ABOUT US...

FREEDOMS REFUGE was established by two Army Veterans-Tony and Babette Bell-as a Nonprofit in NE Ohio in 2022. The following year in 2023, they applied for 501(c)3 status and plan to use any and all donations for the continued mission of helping fellow Veterans. Tony and Babette together have 56 years combined active military service, and they wish to extend their knowledge and experience to engage our Veteran community by providing a hand up, not a handout to those in need. FREEDOMS REFUGE is focused on the use of equine assisted therapy and various other outdoor activities on our farm.

Equines serve as an excellent biofeedback of our own emotions. An equine (horse, donkey, mule, pony, etc.) will reflect the energy that an individual gives off and thus, provides immediate feedback enabling an person to react in real time and make adjustments. Horses naturally do this just by their nature of being horses and they allow us as people to learn to be present and to live in the moment.
